Building Surveys
What is this?
A Structural Survey Report or Building Survey is a comprehensive inspection of a property reported in a style to suit the property and the specific requirements of the person instructing the survey. It examines all accessible parts of a property and specific areas can be included, especially if there is concern about those parts.
Who is it for?
It can provide invaluable information for prospective purchasers of listed buildings, older properties, buildings constructed in an unusual way, properties to be renovated or altered or that have had extensive alterations. A Building Survey can include details of defects and what they could mean, the possible cost of repairs, results of damp testing, damage to timbers, the condition of damp-proofing, insulation and drainage, technical information on the construction of the property and the materials used, the location and recommendations for any further special inspections.
Who is it not for?
Building Surveys do not include a valuation report.
